Quest 2025

The whole festival ran on one image. The key art is a sun the size of a building sitting on top of an expansive jungle, and the sun is in the scene. It’s geometry resting on the canopy, lit and rendered in Cinema 4D and Redshift, with Forester for the trees and Insydium Terra for the landscape.
The lighting is keyframed, so the image animates. Over a few seconds the sun moves from dawn through midday and dusk until it’s a moon over still water. That cycle became the concept for the event. Everything the design team made inherited it, and the festival walked people from day into night.
The screens came out of the same world. I used Cinema 4D renders as the base, Kling to animate them, and Midjourney to work out what the screens could hold. The finished loops put an environment, an icon and one of three states on each screen, the tagline, the lyrics or general information, cut both horizontal and vertical.
The renders sit beside the animations they became further down this page, because that order is the point. The craft made the origin and the generation carried it outward. My loops are tagged MR in the files, which kept my half of a shared screen system separate from Matthew Collamore’s.
The logo loop at the top of this page was the two of us as well. Most of the renders and clips in it are mine, some are his, and he cut it together.
