Quango Identity Cinematic

During my time at Quango, I worked closely with our Creative Director exploring a brand refresh. He had spent months working on the new identity, and I was brought on during the final phase of that work. He had defined a logo, typeface and color palette, but wanted to further expand the identity with a visual backdrop that moved the studio into a more modern, high tech realm. I suggested we translate his work into 3D, and I began exploring how we could do that. I built out a handmade model of the logo, ensuring a proper mesh was designed that could be flexibly and reliably be used, distorted and broken apart as needed, and then using X-Particles within Cinema 4D, I created a variety of different particle and fluid simulations, before arriving at a sleek, monochromatic visual package we would then use on our site and printed materials for presentation decks and outreach kits.

Shown on this page are several pre-viz explorations that would later be used in print materials. The work was a large exploratory undertaking, and experimentation was highly encouraged as both myself and our creative director became enthralled with the process. It would later serve as a foundation for the brand moving forward, and launched further explorations in a hybrid digital/print project where we melded our skillsets together, culminating in a set of imagery that expressed our studio’s capabilities and passions. It was an incredibly enjoyable and valuable experience. Thank you Scott for daring to explore.
