Historic Bank Block (HBB) - Identity Development

In downtown Portland, OR, there is a little piece of early Portland history called the Historic Bank Block. It had gone through a change of ownership, and the new owners wanted to refresh it’s brand image. I was tasked with this work, and also directed the on-site photoshoot, some of which you can see below. Drawing inspiration from the various patterns, shapes and materials within the architecture itself, I devised a series of logo marks and brand directions. Ultimately, the owners fell in love with the system at the bottom of this page. It mimicked the Corinthian columns that had stood there for nearly 200 years, and left a lasting impact in tribute to them. This brand is still in place today.
